WCBS (NYC) news this morning put the count from yesterday's rally at 250,000. How I wish I could have gone.

Flickr has a set of photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tbddc/sets/72157625147805703/ Some of those signs are absolutely hilarious.

And I have channels 5 & 9 back. ::yawn:: My bill better not go up.

It would make me happy far beyond my ability to express my happiness if the guy they're looking for in NYC turned out to be a Tea Party member. And considering the fact that he's white, I figure my chances are greater than zero. :)

(Yes, I know the Taliban has claimed responsibility, but the FBI has already dismissed their claim.)

I'm pro-choice for one reason, and one reason only: what an adult woman does (or doesn't do) with her uterus is no one else's goddam business.

This is a perfect example of why I think things like marriage, adoption, abortion, etc. should be regulated at the federal level.

Given the incredibly virulent anti-Hillary attitude at DailyKos during the primaries and election, I never thought I'd see a post like this there. However, take a look:

I think today's front page headline from Le Monde says it all, don't you? ;)

McCain

I disagree with him on pretty much everything, but that was a damn gracious concession speech he just made.

And it just occurred to me that another up side of all this is that perhaps now poor Bristol Palin won't be forced into a shotgun marriage with that goon.

I went over to my parents' house last night to continue taking stuff back to my place and I got talked into staying for dinner. During dinner, my mother mentioned that she had filled in her absentee ballot yesterday. With a bit of trepidation (she had mentioned voting for McCain a couple of times in the last few weeks), I asked if she wanted to tell me who she voted for. "Of course," she said smiling, "I really couldn't bring myself to vote for either of those two, so I wrote in someone." I was a bit surprised by that and asked her who it was. It was her turn to look surprised. "You mean you don't know? I thought you knew me better than that." And then she smiled the biggest smile I've seen on her face in ages. "I voted for Hillary Clinton."
