Hey, NCAA, you do realize that PSU is a land grant university, right? That $60 million fine will end up being paid by the taxpayers of Pennsylvania.

Several people apparently got the wrong impression the other day about my comment on the baby at the movie. I have absolutely no problem with people bringing infants to a movie. I've seen it happen several times and have embarrassed my self making cooing noises, usually to the amusement of the parent. My objection was to bringing an infant to that particular movie - which is why I emphasized the name by italicizing it. This trilogy* is full of car chases, shit blowing up, and loud music. It just didn't seem like a good environment for an infant to me. It still doesn't, but whatever.

* Okay, I've only seen one and a half of them, but I have no reason to believe the third is any different.

*headdesk* on the fine. So much about what the NCAA did penalized people who did nothing wrong, yet touched nary a hair on the responsible parties.

I stand corrected on the baby issue, and do agree with you there--I, too, wonder how much of that babies absorb--figure better safe than sorry.

The six-year-old girl's parents...they must be in hell right now. Was it a mistake to bring a girl that age to that movie? Probably. Did they deserve that consequence? God, no. (And I'm just musing "aloud" here, not responding to anything you said.)
