1. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before?
Oh, that's too depressing to answer first off.

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make New Year’s resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes.

5. What countries did you visit?
The farthest I got from home was South Jersey. Which is kind of a foreign land, now that I think of it.

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
Discretionary funds.

7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
January 9.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Not strangling our new department chair, Dr. I-wasn't-hired-to-do-administrative-work.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not getting help sooner.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I've been on the sick/injured list (back, then ankle, then knee, then the flu, then back again) pretty much non-stop since the middle of August, and I'm getting pretty damn tired of being in pain.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
That's a secret for the next few days. ;)

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
The Occupy folks, for the most part.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I'd rather not go into that here.

14. Where did most of your money go?
The usual places during the first half of the year, to health insurance premiums in the second half. Thanks, Governor.

My new book club.

Uh …

A little sadder

A tiny bit thinner.

At the old homestead.

Cooking for the Friday night dinner group.

No.

None. I've never really been a fan, but it's especially not something I would do while I'm in a relationship.

Fringe, closely followed by TBBT.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate anyone. I can't spare the energy.

Coffee with Thunderbolts.

Toby Walker.

Death Comes to Pemberley. I can't wait to read it!

A cost-of-living raise.

The King's Speech, which was our New Year's Day movie. The rest of the year was all downhill from that.

Dinner out with Dad. I'm 57.

Oh, who knows? It was what it was.

Same as always – somewhere between prep and slob.

Work.

John Barrowman. Talk about Mr. What-a-waste.

Pretty much all of them.

Several people.

Danielle. She's really very impressive, particularly for someone who's only nineteen.
