I haven't written much about the new TV season, mostly because there isn't that much to say. Very few of the new shows have held my attention. There are two exceptions – one sitcom and one "drama". (I'll explain the quotes in a moment.)

The sitcom is The Big Bang Theory, which I first wrote about the day after its premiere. I was worried that the premise wouldn't hold, and that they would run out of storylines very quickly. I'm pleased to say that it remains hilarious. They have continued to flesh out the characters in a believable way, giving each of the nerds/geeks individual quirks and foibles. Penny, the blonde waitress who lives across the hall, is often at her wit's end with them, and isn't above showing it when they annoy her. There's less science dialog than in the pilot, but when it's there, it's correct. Yay!

The "drama" is Moonlight, and I love it more than words can say. Not because it's good, but because it's so flamboyant in its badness. Seriously, it's comedy gold. I mean, this show makes Forever Knight (its most recent antecedent on the evolutionary tree) look like Shakespeare. I've taken to having a glass of wine every Friday night at 9:00, simply because it goes so well with the cheese. I could go on for hours about the fabulousness of the awfulness, and probably will in future entries. For now, I'll just say I can't wait for the DVDs.
