Super Sunday
Feb. 5th, 2007 12:03 pmSince last week was so very awful all the way around for me, Judi suggested we do something yesterday. The something we decided on was going to see Blue Man Group. We managed to get tickets for the 5:00 show (they do three on Sundays) and I was impressed by my purchasing skills until I realized that yesterday was the Super Bowl. Oh well. The theater is downtown, so we drove in and parked in a garage across the street.
The show was fantastic, but it's very interactive, and at one point I turned to Judi and expressed my hope that she had taken her meds. She had. :) Our seats were in the fifth row, so we were issued ponchos. Sure enough, we both found blue paint on them when we took them off.
It was just before 7:00 when we got out so we walked up a block to the big Starbucks Sharon likes so much and hung out a while. We were strong and did not go into the B&N across the street. ;)
The drive home was just bizarre. Except for empty cabs with their available lights on, the streets were almost deserted. it was so quiet they had only one tube of the Lincoln Tunnel open westbound. We kept turning corners and finding traffic cones blocking the lanes. It was just eerie - I was doing 45 in the tunnel - and it was the same on our side of the river. As Judi put it, "This says something about us as a nation and it isn't anything good."
