That discrepancy in respectful address always pisses me off, too, as though somehow that "Mrs" wipes out/trumps every other accomplishment of Senator Clinton's. And while she's a bit too conservative for my taste and I wish she projected warmth with ease the way her husband is able to do (something that I think detracts from her considerable abilities and strengths), I have a lot of admiration for her. I would be pleased to have her in the Oval Office in 2009.
2. I'm equally annoyed at the Obama campaign and the media's disapproval at Bill Clinton's role in his spouse's campaign. It is a long-standing tradition for the spouse to be the one who goes for the jugular against the candidate's competition while the candidate gets too look innocent -- Elizabeth Edwards has been doing it for months, and I think Michelle Obama has gotten a few digs in, too. And certainly there's Barbara Bush's famous "rhymes with rich" comment about Ferraro. It may not be the prettiest tactic, but the Clintons are not doing anything that hasn't been done a million times before. But everyone's acting like it's shocking and unfair. *rolls eyes*
